Patricia A. Lynn-Ford, Esq.

Patricia A. Lynn-Ford joined the Lynn Law Firm in 1989, after four years of private practice with two large law firms in New York City, where she handled commercial and insurance defense litigation.

For over two decades, Ms. Lynn-Ford has successfully handled a wide variety of challenging insurance coverage claims on behalf of individuals and businesses. The positive results are due to well-developed litigation strategy, attention to detail and thorough preparation. Clients are given candid advice, and prepared for the process of pursing coverage enforcement through litigation. She advocates for clients seeking enforcement of insurance coverage and who may also have been victims of unfair or deceptive claims handling by their insurance companies.

Ms. Lynn-Ford is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law (J.D. 1985) and the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. cum laude 1982). In 2003, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an internationally recognized association of U.S. and Canadian trial attorneys nominated by their peers as representing the top one percent of trial attorneys in their state or province, in areas of trial skills and ethics. Ms. Lynn-Ford has been an active member of this organization, serving a two-year term as Upstate New York Chair, and as a member of the Upstate New York State Committee. Ms. Lynn-Ford has been consistently rated for over 20 years as “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, representing the highest rating for competency and ethics. She has been a frequent lecturer on trial practice topics for the New York State Bar Association. She has authored Evidence Survey articles for Syracuse University Law Review for the years 2013, 2014, and 2016 and has co-authored the New York State Bar Association, Insurance Law Practice, Third Edition, Chapter 13, “Claims Made Coverage Issues” (2016). She has been a member of Super Lawyers Registry since 2009 and was recently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Lynn-Ford has been an active community member, serving as an officer or board member of various charitable organizations. She currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society and a Trustee of the Skaneateles Charitable Community Trust, an entity that owns and operates the Skaneateles YMCA.

Martin A. Lynn, Esq.

Marty Lynn is a trial attorney with the Lynn Law Firm representing policyholders in insurance coverage litigation against insurance companies. Mr. Lynn has successfully litigated hundreds of claims against insurance companies and his cases have been recognized in the New York Law Journal, jury verdict reporters, and by numerous other organizations.

Mr. Lynn represents companies and individuals in insurance coverage disputes. He litigates all types of insurance coverage issues against insurance companies including fire losses, water losses, title insurance claims, business income loss, motor vehicle coverage, bad-faith claims, boiler failure, explosion, mold, medical equipment failure, building collapse, and employee theft. He has significant motion and appellate practice relating to insurance coverage.

Mr. Lynn has been recognized by the New York State Bar Association with the Sheldon Hurwitz Award for his outstanding contributions to insurance law. This is the highest honor bestowed upon insurance coverage attorneys in New York State. He is one of the few attorneys dedicated solely to representing policyholders to receive this honor. Mr. Lynn also writes for the New York State Insurance Law Practice Update.

Mr. Lynn is a graduate of St. John’s University School of Law (J.D. 2004) and the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. 2001) and is admitted to practice in New York and before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Lynn also practices before arbitration panels and federal courts throughout the United States and its territories.

Mr. Lynn is active in the community and is involved in many organizations. Mr. Lynn is a Certified Interior Structural Firefighter and serves as President of the Skaneateles Fire Department. He was recognized by the Skaneateles Fire Department in 2017 as its “Outstanding Member.” He serves on the Board of the Onondaga County Bar Association and on the Executive Committee. He is also Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Tully Hill. Mr. Lynn is a Super Lawyer, recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America, a recipient of the “40 Under Forty” award from the CNY Business Journal and has been recognized by the Skaneateles Youth Hockey Association with the “Laker Award” for his contributions to youth hockey.

Kelsey W. Shannon, Esq.

Kelsey is a trial attorney with the Lynn Law Firm who represents individuals and business looking to get their due from insurance companies.

Kelsey joined the Lynn Law Firm in 2017 from the United States Department of Justice, where he represented the United States as a trial attorney in high-profile civil disputes and trials. Before joining the Justice Department, Kelsey spent six years at two large law firms in the District of Columbia, handling complex commercial, criminal, and regulatory disputes. At the Lynn Law Firm, he brings this broad experience and unique strategic perspective to bear on behalf of our clients.

Kelsey is a graduate of Harvard Law School (cum laude 2007) and Georgetown University (cum laude 2004). He is admitted to the bar in New York, the District of Columbia, the federal District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Northern District of New York. In addition, he has represented clients in courts throughout the country, including in California, Washington, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia. While at the Department of Justice, Kelsey received the John Marshall Award for Trial of Litigation, the Department’s highest attorney award, and an Assistant Attorney General Award.

Since returning to upstate New York, Kelsey has established a prominent and successful practice representing policyholders. In 2019, he was awarded the Sheldon Hurwitz Award by the New York State Bar Association for his work in the insurance field. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the CNY Women’s Bar Association and member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Federal Legislative Priorities. He has published widely on issues including insurance, civil litigation, trial practice, and antitrust, and is an editor of the American Bar Association’s treatise Proving Antitrust Damages.
